ST. LOUIS — Milwaukee Brewers right-hander J.C. Mejia was suspended 162 video games by Main League Baseball on Wednesday after testing optimistic for a performance-enhancing drug.
Mejia examined optimistic for stanozolol, in accordance with a launch from the league. He is the primary participant suspended below the most important league drug settlement this season.
Mejia had been suspended 80 video games in Could 2022 after his first optimistic check for stanozolol, an artificial steroid derived from testosterone.
“The Milwaukee Brewers absolutely assist MLB’s Joint Drug Prevention and Remedy Program and share within the purpose of eliminating performance-enhancing substances from our recreation,” Brewers common supervisor Matt Arnold stated in a press release.
Mejia, 27, has been on the injured checklist with a shoulder subject since Aug. 15. He was transferred to the 60-day injured checklist final week.
Mejia went 1-0 with a 5.56 ERA in 9 appearances this season. He struck out 13 batters and walked three in 11â…“ innings.
Mejia, who’s from the Dominican Republic, is in his third main league season. He has an 8.32 ERA in 28 video games over his large league profession.
