Brewers’ J.C. Mejia suspended 162 video games for optimistic PED check


ST. LOUIS — Milwaukee Brewers right-hander J.C. Mejia was suspended 162 video games by Main League Baseball on Wednesday after testing optimistic for a performance-enhancing drug.

Mejia examined optimistic for stanozolol, in accordance with a launch from the league. He is the primary participant suspended below the most important league drug settlement this season.

Mejia had been suspended 80 video games in Could 2022 after his first optimistic check for stanozolol, an artificial steroid derived from testosterone.

Mejia, 27, has been on the injured checklist with a shoulder subject since Aug. 15. He was transferred to the 60-day injured checklist final week.

Mejia went 1-0 with a 5.56 ERA in 9 appearances this season. He struck out 13 batters and walked three in 11⅓ innings.

Mejia, who’s from the Dominican Republic, is in his third main league season. He has an 8.32 ERA in 28 video games over his large league profession.

13 gamers have been disciplined below the minor league drug program this season.
